Monte Carlo - Tissue Culture
Monte Carlo Tissue Culture – Micranthemum tweediei ‘Monte Carlo’
Monte Carlo is one of the most popular carpeting plants in the aquarium hobby, loved for its small, vibrant green leaves and ability to form a dense, lush carpet across the foreground of an aquascape.
This tissue culture provides a generous amount of healthy, young plantlets grown in a sterile environment, meaning they are free from snails, algae and unwanted pests. Simply rinse away the culture media, divide into small portions and plant throughout your substrate.
Monte Carlo is relatively easy to grow and can thrive without CO₂, although CO₂ injection, good lighting and regular fertilisation will encourage significantly faster, denser and more compact growth.
Growth: Moderate to fast
Placement: Foreground / carpeting
Lighting: Medium–high
CO₂: Recommended for best and fast growth
Difficulty: Easy–moderate
Propagation: Trim and replant runners/cuttings
An excellent choice for creating a bright green, natural-looking carpet in both beginner and high-tech planted aquariums.
