Proserpinaca palustris ‘Mermaid Weed’

Proserpinaca palustris, commonly known as ‘Mermaid Weed’, is a beautiful and unique stem plant featuring finely serrated leaves unlike almost anything else in the aquarium.

An easy and adaptable species, Mermaid Weed can be grown successfully without CO₂, making it suitable for a wide range of planted aquariums. Under stronger lighting with good nutrition and CO₂, the foliage can develop stunning golden, orange and reddish tones, while lower-tech conditions typically produce greener growth.

Its distinctive foliage and warm colouration make it an excellent choice for adding texture and contrast to the midground or background.

Our Mermaid Weed is supplied submersed grown, allowing it to transition straight into aquarium conditions without needing to convert from emersed growth.
