Bucephalandra ‘Dark Skeleton King’

An exceptionally rare and striking Bucephalandra variety, Dark Skeleton King is prized for its dramatic, deeply textured foliage and incredibly dark colouration. Mature leaves develop a bold, almost black appearance with pronounced veining, giving this variety its unmistakable “skeleton” look.

These plants are supplied emersed grown and will require time to adapt to fully submerged aquarium conditions. Dark Skeleton King can be more challenging to convert than many other Bucephalandra varieties, so some patience and experience with Buce is recommended. During the transition, older emersed leaves may develop holes, deteriorate or melt as the plant redirects its energy into producing new submersed growth. Some holes or imperfections in the supplied emersed leaves are therefore to be expected.

Once established, its new submersed foliage makes the wait well worth it, developing into an incredibly distinctive collector’s Bucephalandra.
