Staurgyne Repens
Staurogyne repens
Staurogyne repens is a hardy, compact aquarium plant known for its lush green foliage and dense, bushy growth. Its low-growing habit makes it an excellent choice for the foreground or midground, where it can be used around rocks, driftwood and other hardscape to create a natural transition between carpeting and taller plants.
A beginner-friendly and adaptable species, Staurogyne repens can be grown successfully without injected CO₂. However, CO₂ supplementation and good lighting will encourage faster, denser and more compact growth.
Regular trimming encourages new side shoots, allowing the plant to develop into a thick, attractive bush. Cuttings can simply be replanted into the substrate to quickly expand the group.
